| dc.description.abstract | This thesis looks at the characteristics of the Akhal-Teke horse, a breed originating in
Turkmenistan and dating back thousands of years. It is studied not only for its distinctive
physical traits, such as the characteristic metallic sheen of its coat; but also for its genetic
ancestry and adaptations to extreme conditions in deserts. Chronicler provides a picture of the
Turkmen culture symbol, breed had been used in wars and trades. It covers modern breeding
practices and efforts to maintain genetic diversity while also tackling the competition
