Assisted reproduction techniques in horses
Abstract
This thesis explores the diverse techniques of assisted reproduction in horses. It offers a
comprehensive overview of established and emerging methodologies for overcoming fertility
challenges, enhancing genetic diversity, and expanding breeding possibilities.
A comprehensive analysis of methods such as sperm collection, sex determination, artificial
insemination, embryo transfer, oocyte recovery under ultrasound guidance, in vitro maturation
and fertilisation, intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), gamete intrafallopian transfer
(GIFT), cryopreservation, and cloning is presented.
