dc.description.abstractÖSSZEFOGLALÁS Vizsgálataik során a szerzők négy sertéspatogén Mycoplasma faj (Mycoplasma (M.) hyopharyngis, M. hyopneumoniae, M. hyorhinis, és M. hyosynoviae) előfordulási arányát határozták meg 150 közép-európai hízósertés-állományból származó mandulamintából. A M. hyopharyngis-t az állományok 92,67%-ában (139/150), a M. hyopneumoniae-t 51,33%-ában (77/150), a M. hyorhinis-t 100%-ában (150/150), a M. hyosynoviae-t pedig 88%-ában (132/150) tudták kimutatni PCR-tesztekkel. A vizsgált telepek 13,33%-ából (20/150) M. hyopharyngis-t, 71,33%-ából (107/150) M. hyorhinis-t és 81,33%-ából (122/150) pedig M. hyosynoviae-t sikerült kitenyészteniük. SUMMARY Background: Mycoplasma (M.) hyopharyngis, M. hyopneumoniae, M. hyorhinis, and M. hyosynoviae are capable of transient colonization in swine tonsils without inducing visible lesions or clinical symptoms. While M. hyopharyngis is regarded as a commensal microorganism, its prevalence and potential pathogenicity remain poorly understood. On the other hand, M. hyopneumoniae, M. hyorhinis, and M. hyosynoviae are widely recognized pathogens, contributing to substantial economic losses in swine production. Objectives: This study sought to evaluate the detection rates of these mycoplasmas in Central-Eastern Europe (Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Slovakia) through a cross-sectional investigation. Materials and Methods: Tonsillar samples were collected from 15 pigs per herd, specifically six-month-old fattening pigs, involving 150 herds. Tonsils from each herd were grouped into three pools, with five tonsils per pool. These pooled samples were analyzed using species-specific Taqman PCR assays and subjected to isolation techniques. Results and Discussion: M. hyopharyngis was identified in 92.67% of the herds (139/150, 95% confidence interval: 87.35–95.86%), with successful isolations achieved from 20 herds. M. hyopneumoniae was detected in 51.33% of the herds (77/150, 95% confidence interval: 43.40–59.19%), no attempts at isolation were performed. M. hyorhinis was universally present across all herds (100%; 150/150, 95% confidence interval: 97.50–100%) and successfully isolated in 107 herds. Lastly, M. hyosynoviae tested positive in 88.00% of herds (132/150, 95% confidence interval: 81.83–92.27%), with isolations obtained in 122 cases. These results broaden our knowledge about the detection rates of M. hyopharyngis, M. hyopneumoniae, M. hyorhinis, and M. hyosynoviae in this geographical region.en_US
