Lovaskultúránk hagyományos területei: az ősi lovas- és nomádélet hagyományai, katonai hagyományőrzés, huszárok

Abstract

A magyarság különösen szoros kapcsolatot alakított ki a lóval. Már a honfoglalás előtti időkben, a nomád pásztorkodás, az elemi erőkkel vívott küzdelmek és a fennmaradásért folyó harcok idején is a magyar ember nélkülözhetetlen, állandó társa lett, hogy ezután hűségesen végigkísérje népünket évszázadai alatt. Nem lehet nem észrevenni, hogy a honfoglaló magyar vitéz harcmodora, mentalitása mennyire hasonlított a későbbi huszárokéhoz. A ló szenvedélyes szeretete, a bravúros lovaglótudás, a bátor kezdeményezőkészség, a leleményesség, a virtus keresése ugyanúgy jellemezte Árpád fejedelem lovasait, mint a végvári vitézeket, a kurucokat, vagy a későbbi korok huszárjait. A huszárszellemhez hozzá tartozik a lovagiasság, hiszen az ellenségben mindig meglátták a sorstársat is, a parancsra harcoló és szenvedő ellenfelet. A keménységen és a kor hadiszokásain túl a magyar könnyűlovas soha nem volt kegyetlen. Tisztelte ellenfelét, s ha úgy hozta a sors, hadizsákmányként hozzákerült lovát éppúgy ápolta, gondozta, szerette, mint a sajátját. Nem volt még egy olyan csapatnem, amelyben ilyen magas szinten élt volna a csapatszellem, a bajtársiasság, az összetartás, mint a huszárságnál. A hazai lovasmúlt áttekintése, éppúgy, mint a mai lótenyésztés, lóversenyzés, lovassport kereteinek, lehetőségeinek ismertetése jól szolgálja lovaskúltúránk fejlesztését. A kultúra mindig a hagyományokra épül. Lovastradícióink ápolása, összegyűjtése és közreadása ezért nemcsak dokumentáció és történelem, hanem a mai és a jövő nemzedékek ezirányú kultúrájának megalapozása és fejlesztése is. A magyar lovas kultúrának évezredes gyökerei vannak. Európa lovas nemzetként ismert meg bennünket. A magyar nép sok területen gazdagította a világ lovas életét. Lovas hagyományaink nemzeti kultúránk értékes részét képezik; méltóak arra, hogy megismerjük, gazdagítsuk és a XXI. században is megőrizzük.

Rider our traditions constitute the valuable part of our national culture; worthy that way, let us enrich it in order to get to know it and the XXI. we preserve it in a century.
