Abstract

The aim of this thesis is to investigate the impact of feed shortages caused by drought in 2022 on the performance of dairy cows. The change in dairy cow production due to the substitution of maize silage for alfalfa silage produced in insufficient quantities as a result of the 2022 rainfall deficit was investigated. The study was carried out in a herd of 400 dairy Holstein cows in Medgyesegyháza. During the study 29 animals of this herd were examined. We compared the quantity, protein and fat content of milk produced in the second and third lactation of the same cows.
