Kan kutyák ivartalanításának hatásai : A viselkedés és a tesztoszteronszint változása, vélemények az ivartalanításról

Abstract

It is commonly known that castrated male dogs are more calm and there is less trouble with them than intact males. Despite that, if it comes down to their own dogs, the owners won´t accept the operation that easily. Scientific literatures show the various medical and behavioural benefits of neutering. The aim of this research was to study what behavioural differences the castration can cause in each individual and to find what provable, positive behavioural changes, so that in the future it could help convince unwilling owners to castrate their dogs. To reach this, we investigated the behavioural changes due to castration in a 5 month period and compared it to the blood serum testosterone level. Also, we made a questionnaire to collect the opinion of intact and operated dog´s owners and veterinarians about castration.
