Abstract
The objective of the thesis was a description and presentation of certain newly created cat breeds. The cat breeds in general and the newly created cat breeds show a great diversity in both phenotype and genotype. Within the different breeds there is a corresponding differency regarding the history, the outer appearance and the behaviour of the individuals obvious. The achievement and fixation of desired breed characteristics can be achieved by the, for this purpose suitable, breeding method like the Pure Breeding which is the mainly used method in cat breeding. However, this breeding strategy and therefore the fixation of features have a limited effect on the variety of genes.
