Abstract
The records of nine dogs presenting with severe pulmonic stenosis where balloon valvuloplasty was performed has been reviewed retrospectively. Two dogs, 22%, were symptomatic at initial presentation. All the dogs underwent the same diagnostic procedure to confirm severe pulmonic stenosis with a systolic pressure gradient >80 mmHg, and concurrent evidence of mild to severe right ventricular hypertrophy. The owners were informed about the option of balloon valvuloplasty and all underwent pulmonary balloon valvuloplasty with a success rate of 100%.
