Abstract
Cramping syndromes in canine covers a wide area of topics. The aim of this literature review is to get a broader understanding of the inheritance of syndromes causing cramps in the domestic dog (canis familiaris). 4 different paroxysmal dyskinesias was assessed further, and one hypomyelinating disease causing cramps. The common denominator between the latter and one of the paroxysmal dyskinesias was the breed Border Terrier. The diagnostic workup and the mode of inheritance was collected, and the possibility for diagnosing these cramping syndromes with genetic tests.
