Abstract
The Scandinavian grey wolf, which belongs to the Eurasian wolf subspecies (Canis lupus lupus) of the wolf (Canis lupus), is a crucial apex predator in Northern Europe's ecosystems. Despite their ecological importance, these wolves face threats such as habitat loss, genetic bottlenecks, and human-wildlife conflicts. This thesis examines their population dynamics, ecological adaptations, genetic diversity, conservation status, and human-wolf interactions, focusing on the challenges posed by poaching.
