Comparative study of laws and regulations regarding puppy mills in some European countries
Absztrakt
The puppy mill industry involves the relentless overbreeding of dogs in an unethical manner
which poses significant threats to animal welfare, the integrity of the gene pool and public
health. This thesis investigates the legislation in place in different European countries and the
need for legislation to combat overbreeding and regulate commercial sales and the illegal
puppy trade. These laws protect animals from cruelty, encouraging responsible breeding
practices while reducing pressure on animal shelters and promoting public awareness.
